An amphibious excavator, also known as an amphib excavator or marsh buggy, is a specialized type of construction equipment designed to operate in wetland environments, such as swamps, marshes, and shallow bodies of water. It combines the capabilities of a standard excavator with the ability to float and maneuver on water. Amphibious excavators are typically equipped with pontoons or tracks that provide buoyancy and stability in water. These pontoons or tracks are usually fitted with additional propulsion systems, such as paddle wheels or propellers, to enable movement through the water. On land, the excavator can operate like a regular excavator, using its hydraulic arm and bucket to dig, scoop, and move materials.
